Stage 1 2011: Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Ehrwald

The first day of the SALOMOPN 4 TRAILS will help all participants to realize what they are up to: running through alpine scenery as the opening stage isn't miserly with it at all. There are not only a total of six up and downs but also the most beautiful hiking paths and trails of the Zugspitz massif.

Stage 2 2011: Ehrwald - Imst

Day two starts with the transition of the Mieminger Mountains and a first real highlight of the 2011 SALOMON 4 TRAILS, the crossing of the Grünsteinscharte (2,263m). But it's the following descent which underlines why the second stage from Ehrwald to Imst is a test for the joints. With about 1,200 meters in descent down to start level it's obvious that the stage race is made for well-trained mountain runners.

Stage 3 2011: Imst - Landeck

The order of the day for the third stage from Imst to Landeck can be summarized as – stay high once you get up above treeline and bag all the peaks along the way – a panoramic smorgasbord of some of the best Tyrolean landscapes. The stage cavorts with alpine pastures and cool forests before ending up on a delightful alpine ridgeline that undulates between the Kreuzjoch (2,464m), the Wannejöchl (2,497m) and the Glanderspitze (2,512m).

Stage 4 2011: Landeck - Samnaun

The final day brings the most challenging stage with a total of more than 45 kilometers and almost 3,000 meters in elevation. And as if this wouldn't be enough, the racers also have to conquer the highest peak of this year's SALOMON 4 TRAILS: the Ochsenscharte (2,787m). However, the stage from Landeck to Samnaun in Switzerland leads on paths which are easy to run on and will stir the racer's blood with three transitions over 2,400 meters. After the field has mastered the roof of the stage race, wild-romantic scenery opens before everyone gets the chance to prepare for an emotional finish on the last and easy nine kilometers.
