Course

Summary 2011:
The premiere of the Salomon 4 Trails 2011 can be regarded as extremely successful. Participants praised especially the unique course with high-alpine trails and many exciting and varied trail portions. Each stage was brilliant and featured an absolute highlight: The most beautiful hiking trails around the Zugspitze on day one, the high-alpine Grünsteinscharte and the long Gipfelgrat of the Tschirgant on day two, 3 summits high above the Inn Valley on day three and solitary, high-alpine trails climbing up to 2,700 meters on the final stage.

Salomon 4 Trails 2012
The Salomon 4 Trails has already made a name for itself in the scene. That is because the Three-Country-Course fascinates right from the get-go with beautiful trails, fantastic and deep views, and a lot of variety in consistently high-alpine atmosphere. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen via Ehrwald, Imst and Landeck to Samnaun, the challenge is to overcome a total of 157.9 km of distance and about 9800 meters of elevation - a challenging undertaking, because even the shortest stage from Imst to Landeck features a distance of more than 31 km and 1,800 meters of difference in elevation. At that point participants will already have the starting stage from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Ehrwald in their legs and also the high-alpine stage 2 featuring Grünsteinscharte and Tschirgant. The king's stage follows on the last day of the event: More than 44 km and close to 2,900 meters of elevation gain will then take the trail runners to an unforgettable finisher in Samnaun.

1. Stage Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Ehrwald

Up and down as warm-up
The first day of the SALOMOPN 4 TRAILS will help all participants to realize what they are up to: running through alpine scenery as the opening stage isn't miserly with it at all. There are not only a total of six up and downs but also the most beautiful hiking paths and trails of the Zugspitz massif.

2. Stage Ehrwald to Imst

Storybook routing and litmus test for the joints
Day two starts with the transition of the Mieminger Mountains and a first real highlight of the 2012 SALOMON 4 TRAILS, the crossing of the Grünsteinscharte (2,263m). But it's the following descent which underlines why the second stage from Ehrwald to Imst is a test for the joints. It's obvious that the stage race is made for well-trained mountain runners.
